Improving Stormwater Quality:

A Showcase of Innovative Technology and Site Design

Myrtle Beach Convention Center

Wednesday February 2, 2005

Sponsored by:

SC DHEC Office of Coastal and Ocean Resource Management, in partnership with

North Inlet – Winyah Bay Coastal Training Program (CTP), Coastal Carolina University’s Burroughs and Chapin Center for Marine and Wetland Studies, Horry County Stormwater Management, the City of Myrtle Beach and the SC Sea Grant Consortium

This event is intended to provide a macro, neighborhood-scale and a site-based approach to stormwater management.  The Jordan Cove Urban Watershed Project—a paired development study in Connecticut—will provide a framework for comparing economic, hydrologic, water quality, and social quality of life criteria between conventional and alternative modes of development in coastal communities.  The structural BMP technology fair in the afternoon will enable attendees to learn more about technical solutions to post-development retrofit challenges.  Representatives from leading stormwater technology manufacturers will be on hand to demonstrate their products, distribute literature, and answer technical questions.
