Free admission, but donations are appreciated.

Access to the 17,500 acre Hobcaw Barony property is only by guided tours (Tuesday through Friday at scheduled times) and Reserve educational programs.

HBDC – The Partnership

The HBDC represents a partnership between the North Inlet-Winyah Bay NERR and the Belle W. Baruch Foundation, which oversees Hobcaw Barony. With a construction grant from the NERR’s federal partner, the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Association, and a match provided by the Belle W. Baruch Foundation, groundbreaking for the new and expanded Center began on August 11, 2008. The new HBDC features 1800 square feet of exhibit space, an audiovisual room, a classroom, reception area, gift shop, and office space for Baruch Foundation and NI-WB NERR education staff, and also houses the NERRS Centralized Data Managment Office. In addition, a separate grant was acquired for the construction of a new outdoor classroom adjacent to Kimbel Pond, which will serve as an exciting setting for public and school programs.
